IMPORTANT UPDATES
09/07/2026
Our Bailiffs have reported a number of instances where they have been unable, or found it very difficult to wake sleeping anglers.
We feel this raises two issues;
If an angler is unable to be woken this may be an indication that they are unwell & may be in need of medical assistance.
If an angler is unable to be woken, or is difficult to wake, then they may be deemed to be not in control of their rods and this presents a fish welfare issue.
In response to this we have issued the following guidance to our Bailiffs;
All attempts must be made to wake any angler found to be asleep.
In the event that an angler is unable to be woken then medical assistance should be called.
If, in the opinion of the Bailiff, it is very difficult to wake the angler then it is reasonable to decide that the angler is not in control of their rods & that there is a risk to fish welfare and the angler is to be asked to pack up and leave the venue.
We fully appreciate that this guidance will only be relevant in a small number of instances but we have found it necessary to put this in place in order to fulfill our responsibilities towards our Members & our stock.
We hope you will agree that these measures are reasonable & proportional.
Thank you for your understanding & cooperation in this matter.

We have recently been experiencing an increasing level of infringements of the Night Booking System rules as set out in the Membership Permit.
These are;
1) Placing further bookings before completing three night bookings held concurrently.
2) Placing bookings and failing to attend without cancelling.
3) Placing multiple bookings for the same date.
These Infringements not only impact other Members wishing to place bookings but also incur an increased level of work for Booking System Administrators.
We regret that due to this we, with immediate effect, will be applying sanctions to those who continue to commit infringements. Any Member who commits a repeat infringement will be liable to loss of access to the booking system & night fishing for one month.
We appreciate mistakes can happen and challenges may be faced with the booking system. If that is the case then please email The Committee ASAP to highlight any issue before commencing your booking.
We would like to thank all of our Members, the large majority, that understand and abide by the rules.
Thank you for your understanding & cooperation in this matter.
